Anne Meredith Winograd graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1990, and was a member of the intercollegiate riding national champion team. After college, she moved to Boston and worked full-time for the management consultant firm, Bain & Company, Inc. She also taught riding lessons and co-managed a large equestrian facility in Danvers, MA before moving back to Florida in 1992.
Anne started training and showing hunt seat as a child with Canadian Olympian Martha Ann Shires at New Canaan Mounted Troop, in Connecticut. She successfully competed in equitation hunter over fences division until moving to Tampa in 1982. She trained her first horse as a teenager and added a variety of western competitions to her resume, while attending Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa.
Anne has always been an industrious, goal-oriented person. She became one of the first equine physical therapists in the country, certified in equine sports massage in 1991. While co-barn managing the Longview Farm, she trained and showed her Arabian stallion. She returned to Tampa in 1992 with three Arabian show horses and a Thoroughbred school horse. Anne worked her horses, taught lessons, and promoted her equine sports massage practice. She also worked part-time as a veterinary technician for a local equine practitioner. These experiences and her skills in equine health care and physical conditioning contribute to her respect as a horsewoman.
Anne was introduced to Morgan horses when she asked to address the conditioning and sports therapy needs of the Morgan show horses at Freedom Acres. Anne took special notice of the extremely well-mannered and popular breed. Subsequently, Anne became more closely associated with the Morgan horses and their fun-loving clients - eventually marrying, Morgan horse owner, Glenn Winograd in 1997.
While employed full-time with United HealthCare as senior Corporate Technical Writer, Anne trained and showed hunt seat, western, and driving. in 1998 Anne left UHC, but continued to freelance as a technical writer, and returned to horses as full-time Professional Trainer/Instructor once again. She continues to train and show.
Additionally, Anne also promotes her interests in several related industries. She consults for national equine products companies, works on website and business development, is a certified Equine Appraiser, and the UPHA Chapter 16 Treasurer. Her creativity and drive enhances all of WCM programs, from her unique personal style, to custom rehabilitation protocols for horses, to being the leader of a fantastic team of clients, horses, and staff.
Anne coordinates all of the training and business management of West Coast Morgans, Inc. with assistance from her husband, Glenn. They have two wonderful children, Rachael and Ethan, and three silly dogs, Desi, Lucy, and Nova.
